Behavior
Curious and may follow snorkelers. Hunts by ambush โ holds still, then accelerates explosively. Juveniles school in mangroves; adults are solitary.

Do not wear shiny jewelry when snorkeling around barracuda. Avoid spearfishing near them โ they will steal your catch. Handle with extreme care due to razor teeth.
