Safety Tips
π Alligator Zones
Never paddle within 15 feet of an alligator. They can lunge the length of their body. In nesting season (AprilβJune), females are extra aggressive near bankside nests.
π Tidal Currents
Coastal paddling requires tide knowledge. Outgoing tides can sweep you out. Always paddle INTO the tide first so the return is easier.
π¬ Manatee Zones
Paddle slowly in manatee zones. Do not touch or chase manatees β it's a federal offense. Let them approach you.
β Weather
Check weather before launch. Summer storms can develop in 30 minutes. If thunder rumbles, get to shore immediately.
